Paneer Pakoda- cottage cheese fritters

Paneer pakoda is a great snack for tea-time loved by one & all.

  • ½ cup besan/chickpea flour
  • 300 gm paneer/cottage cheese cut into long thick cubes
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon tumeric
  • Pinch of baking soda
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water to make thick batter
  • Oil for frying


  • Soak paneer pieces in warm water.
  • Toss in 2 tablespoon chickpea flour.
  • Add all dry ingredients to remaining chickpea flour and make a thick batter with water.
  • In a pan,heat oil and fry them on a medium flame,until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney and tomato ketchup.
