Eggless Banana Walnut Cake

Banana walnut cake is a great way to add walnuts to your diet and use surplus over-ripe bananas.

  • 1 ¼ cup self raising flour
  • 2 medium size banana
  • 1 ¼ cup atta or wholemeal flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup +2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon butter for brushing on the top
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Walnuts for garnish


  • In a bowl,mix both flours and sift well.
  • Add baking soda,baking powder and vanilla essence to it to form a mix.
  • In a food processor,add bananas with milk and sugar.
  • Blend it until it forms a homogeneous mixture.
  • Now,add this liquid mix to dry ingredients and melted butter.
  • Mix well with a spatula so that it forms a gooey dough
  • Pour the dough in the loaf tin.
  • Garnish with chopped walnuts
  • Preheat the oven for 5 mins.
  • Bake the dough for 40 mins at 180 degrees celsius or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before you serve.


Milk+banana blended solution should be equal to 1 ½ cups.
You may add 1-2 drops of vanilla bean paste if required.
