Raw banana cutlets|south Indian Vazhakkai recipe

  • Mixing bowl
  • Food processor
  • steamer / pressure cooker/ instant pot
  • cast iron pan


  • 3 raw bananas
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon dried mango powder/amchur
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 piece ginger chopped
  • Rock salt as per taste
  • Oil for frying


  • In food processor process all ingredient, pulse for a 30 seconds until it forms a mixture.
  • Make small cutlets out of the mix.
  • Heat oil on flat iron pan.
  • Add cutlets to it & cook on low/medium flame until light brown on both sides.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney


Note: You can use normal sea salt if not fasting.
