Shahi tukda dessert recipe

Equipment

Ingredients

cup
rabri
or condensed milk

bread
brown bread
½
cup
sugar
½
cup
water
4-6
strands
saffron
Oil
or ghee for frying

tbsp.
pistachios & almonds
finely chopped or sliced, few dried rose leaves optionally
Instructions
Heat sugar,water and saffron strands until sugar has dissolved,turn off the heat and allow to cool.
Traditional frying method
Heat oil or ghee. Fry pieces of bread on medium heat until golden brown.
Dip bread pieces in cooled sugar syrup and keep it aside.
Air fryer method
Preheat the oven for 10 mins at 180 deg c. Place the bread slices.
Cook for 10 mins at 180 deg C for 10 mins. Oil spray 3 times, until it is golden crisp on both sides. Let it cool
Apply the sugar syrup with a brush once done. This ensures you also eat lesser calories than eating something deep fried and dipped in sugar syrup.
Garnish with
rabdi
and nuts when you want to eat it immediately.
Notes
It is very important that the sugar syrup has cooled when the fried bread pieces are dipped in them.
