- 3 cups puffed corn or puffed makai
- 2 tablespoons oil
- ½ teaspoon dry mint powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon amchur powder or dry mango powder
- Salt only if needed
Add the puffed corn to a large mixing bowl.
Add oil, dry mint powder, paprika and amchur.
Taste before adding salt, as the puffed corn may already contain salt.
Toss until the seasoning coats the puffed corn.
Preheat the air fryer and transfer the seasoned puffed corn to the basket or an air-fryer-safe container.
Cover with an air-fryer-safe perforated rack so the lightweight puffed corn stays in place.
Air fry at 170°C / 340°F for 8–9 minutes.
Transfer to a bowl and allow it to cool before serving.
Store in an air tight container
Taste the puffed corn before adding salt because packaged puffed corn may already be salted.
Keep the puffed corn covered with a suitable perforated rack while air frying because the pieces are very light.
This recipe starts with ready-puffed corn or puffed makai. It is different from raw makai poha used for cornflakes-style chivda.
Let the puffed corn cool before serving.
