Air fryer sambar masala powder | homemade sambar powder recipe

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Vitamix blender

Ingredients

Lentils

  • ¼ cup Chana dal
  • ¼ cup tuvar dal
  • 2 tablespoon urad dal

Spices

  • 1 inch cinnamon sticks
  • ½ cup coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp. cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon methi dana /fenugreek seeds
  • 4-5 cloves
  • ½ cup dry coconut powder /khopra , grated
  • 50 gm red chillies adjust as per your spice level
  • 1 tablespoon oil for brushing on red chillies
  • 3-4 sprigs curry leaves ½ cup curry leaves

Instructions

  • Roast chana dal for 5 mins at 160C| 320F, in a preheated air fryer. Now, add tuvar dal and urad dal to the bowl. Air fry them with chana dal for 5minutes at 160 C| 320 F.
  • Add spices (cinnamon,cloves,cumin seeds,methi seeds,coriander seeds), Coconut and chillies(brushed with oil) , cook for 8-10 minutes at 160 deg C| 320 deg F.
  • Add the curry leaves, cook for 2-3 minutes,allow the mixture to cool down
  • Powder them in Vitamix or a spice grinder.
  • Store them in a glass bottle once they cool.
