- 300 gms drumstick approx,you can add add/remove as per your liking
- 2 tablespoon oil or ghee
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste or grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 medium onion chopped. optional, you can avoid onion if you like.
- 2 medium tomatoes purees or chopped
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tbsp. coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder or as per taste
- 1 cup water
- Salt as per taste
If you are using fresh drumstick, then chop the end, cut into small pieces, wash and use. If you are using a frozen pack of drumstick, then use it straight from the freezer.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
Add chopped onions,ginger and salt. Cook until pink.
Add chopped tomatoes and let it soften.Add spices and mix well.
Now, add the drumstick pieces along with 1 cup water and cook until 1 whistle. Do not overcook as it will turn mushy.
Serve hot with rice or roti.
