Murmura chikki recipe

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup murmura /puffed rice
  • ¾ cup jaggery /natural cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Roast murmura: Place puffed rice in a baking dish and air fry at 170°C (340°F) for 8-10 minutes, shaking once halfway through.
  • Melt jaggery: In another heatproof dish, add jaggery and coconut oil. Air fry at 170°C (340°F) for 9-10 minutes, stirring once midway.
  • Combine: Add roasted murmura, cardamom, and sesame seeds to melted jaggery. Mix well until all are coated.
  • Shape: Spread on parchment paper, flatten, and cool for 10–15 minutes.
  • Cut and store: Slice into bars and store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

Make sure that you make the incisions when the mixture is hot.Once it cools.it will set within few seconds and you will not be able to roll it on the board.
