Air fryer jackfruit cutlets

Jackfruit cutlet is a crispy, plant-based Indian patties made with steamed jackfruit and mashed potatoes. Perfect for an easy snacking—golden, spiced, and delicious.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 300 gm steamed jackfruit
  • 300 gm potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon dried mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1-2 tbsp. oil
  • ½ tablespoon salt or as per taste

Instructions

  • Prep the jackfruit: Steam jackfruit until soft. Shred and squeeze out excess water using a muslin cloth or by pressing with a spoon.
  • Make the mixture: In a large bowl or food processor, combine steamed jackfruit, mashed potatoes, chopped green chilli optional, ginger,garlic and mint leaves.
  • Shape the tikkis: Grease your palms and shape into small discs. Freeze them in a tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Fry the tikkis: Heat tablespoon oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add tikkis and cook each side for 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
  • Air frying: Preheat the air fryer for 5 mins at 180C| 355F.Place the frozen patties in the tray without overlap. Air fry for 20-22 mins at 180C | 355F.
  • Serve: Serve jackfruit tikki hot with mint chutney, tomato ketchup or roll into wraps. These also pair beautifully with a rich sauce or smooth gravy if desired.
