- 2 cup badam/ almonds soaked & peeled
- 1-¾ cup water
- ¼ cup ghee
- 2 tablespoon milk
- 1-¾ cup sugar
- chopped almonds for garnish
Soak almonds for 4-6 hours and remove the skin.
Grind them by adding water slowly, in a blender.
Heat ghee in a pan and add the badam paste to it.
Mix well with a spatula.
Add 2 tablespoon milk and keep stirring until it gets cooked.
Now add sugar to it. Keep stirring with a spatula until it gets halwa consistency.
Cook for few more minutes until it starts to dry and you get some dry patches and the mixture starts to resemble kneaded dough.
Line a tray with baking sheet. Alternatively, you can add some ghee to a tray if you do not have baking sheet.
Cut into diagonal shape with help of knife or pizza cutter.
Refrigerate for 4-5 hours.
Note: If sugar is less, the mixture will turn out as badam halva,which is as tasty as the sweet as well.In case you want more hard barfi you can add more sugar to the mixture and cook again.
If you cannot soak the almonds overnight,make sure you soak them for 2-3 hours in hot water so that skin can be removed easily .
