Chilli cheese toast recipe

Equipment

  • baking tray

Ingredients

  • 4-6 Brown bread slices/wholewheat bread
  • 2 tablespoon Homemade garlic butter spread or oil

Veggies

  • ½ cup mixed bell peppers red yellow green capsicums chopped
  • ¼ cup corn kernels

Cheese

  • ¼ cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup mozzarella cheese shredded

Seasoning

  • red chilli flakes optional
  • 1 teaspoon oregano flakes
  • salt and pepper as per taste

Instructions

  • Brush the bread slices lightly with oil or use oil spray.
  • Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry at 170 degrees C / 340 degrees F for 2 to 3 minutes to lightly toast the bread.
  • Top each slice with chopped bell peppers, onion, corn, mozzarella, and cheddar.
  • Sprinkle oregano, salt, pepper, and red chilli flakes if using.
  • Air fry again at 170 degrees C / 340 degrees F for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese melts and the edges are crisp.
  • Serve hot with ketchup or dipping sauce of your choice.

Oven option

  • Place the bread slices on a baking tray and brush or spray lightly with oil.
  • Top with chopped peppers, onion, corn, and shredded cheese.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees C / 320 degrees F for 15 minutes or until the cheese melts and the edges are toasted.
