Dry Fruit Chivda Recipe

A quick dry fruit chivda recipe made with roasted dried potato chips, cashews, almonds, raisins, ghee, mint, sugar, salt, and amchur.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried potato chips use store bought dried potato chips
  • ½ cup cashews
  • ½ cup almonds
  • ½ cup peanuts
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 tablespoon dry mint powder
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon amchur powder
  • ½ tablespoon rock salt or sendha namak adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper optional
  • 1 tablespoon oik for potato chips

Instructions

For the Potato Chips:

  • Soak the dried potato chips in water for 5 minutes. Drain well and spray lightly with oil.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 170°C or 340°F. Air fry the chips for 9 to 10 minutes, tossing once in between. Remove and let them cool.

For the Dry Fruits:

  • Add cashews and almonds to the air fryer basket. Air fry at 170°C or 340°F for 5 minutes.
  • Add raisins and cook for 1 more minute. Remove the dry fruits from the air fryer.

For the Spice Mix:

  • In a small bowl, mix dry mint powder, powdered sugar, amchur powder, rock salt, and black pepper if using.

To Assemble the Chivda:

  • Transfer the warm nuts and raisins to a mixing bowl. Add ghee and the spice mix. Toss well.
  • Crush the potato chips lightly and add them to the bowl. Mix gently so the chips stay crisp. Cool completely before storing.

Notes

The chips will crisp more as they cool, so do not overcook them.
For fasting, use sendha namak and only the ingredients allowed in your family during vrat.
Store the chivda in an airtight container once completely cool.
