This is an instant vegan naan recipe that you can make without yeast, without any oven, just on the cooktop

- 1 ½ cup Self raising All-purpose flour or a combination of self raising all-purpose and self raising whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon grounded Chia seed/chia seed meal
- ½ cup water If the dough needs little more water, add 1-2 tbsp.
- ½ tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Olive oil or melted coconut oil, use half in flour and other half while cooking
- 1 teaspoon Salt or as per taste
- 2 tablespoon Chopped green coriander (for garnishing, optional)
- 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped, (for garlic naan, optional)
Add chia seed meal to the water in a bowl, leave it aside for 10 minutes
Add dry ingredients to a medium bowl .Add the chia seed mix and vegetable oil with salt and lemon juice.
Knead it into a soft dough ball , it will be little sticky . Rub little oil into your hands and take a piece of dough,roll the naan dough on your work surface using a rolling pin You may use a parchment paper or baking sheet to roll the dough ball.Garnish with chopped coriander and garlic.
On a hot cast-iron skillet,cook the naan on medium heat.Brush with oil and turnover. Cook for a total of 2-3 minutes.
- You can replace chia seed meal with flax seeds.
- You can replace chia seed meal with buttermilk (if not vegan, mix equal quantity of yogurt and water)
