    Easy and simple Kheer recipes are a way to have something sweet.Whether it is a mid week dinner or a festive occasion. It is also known as kheerni, payesh ,payasam or phirni, ksheeram. Rice payesh has been around for over thousand years as prasad or temple food.

    It needs less effort to cook. You can make it many ways with minimal ingredients too. Everyone loves it because it needs no chewing.Hence, both kids and aged love the dessert.It also helps you avoid food wastage and feed picky kids milk in another form. 

    We can make it using grains like rice and dalia or broken wheat, suji or semolina,vermicelli payasam, vegetables like sweet potatoes and even fruit like apple,peach and mango.You can also have certain recipes during the fasting period  sago pudding, sweet potato pudding, foxnut pudding.

    Top tip

    Make one when you have excess milk at home.Although, you can make it with low fat milk too, use full fat creamy milk for best results.You can make an instant pudding with condensed milk too. Add sugar or jaggery as per your choice.
