I like to make fusion Indian desserts and the below recipe is inspired from a recipe I saw for white chocolate jalebi bars in recipe book from a supermarket here in Australia.I have used an airfryer to melt the chocolate, which made it super easy and topped with store bought jalebi.
Ingredients
The important thing is chocolate chips, I prefer the callebaut brand Recipe no 811, but you can use any locally available chocolate chips. This is easily available in Costco or at Amazon.
Apart from chocolate chips, you need the following
- Jalebi (you can make you own instant jalebi or get it from an Indian sweet store)
- Sliced pistachios
- Rose petals
- glaced cherries (optional)
Instructions
- Take the chocolate chips with coconut oil in a airfryer/oven safe bowl
- Preheat the airfryer to 150C|300F for 5 minutes. cover the bowl with alumimium foil and place it in the airfryer.
- Cook for 9-10 minutes at 150C|300F in the airfryer.Remove the foil and use a spatula to mix the chips
- Pour the melted mix on baking sheet lined with baking paper
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly
- Add the jalebi, nuts and rose petals,Refrigerate for an hour atleast,Break it into any desired number of pieces.
Substitutions
I have used semi-sweet chocolate chips so no sugar needed. Healthy chocolate bark can be made by adding cranberries, pomegranate seeds or pumpkin seeds only. You can always add it if you like more or use a dark chocolate block without sugar if you prefer a low sugar version.
You can make various types of barkthins. Make a white almond bark using sliced almonds and white choco chips or coconut bark. You can make a chocolate bark with different nuts and seeds.
Variation
You can melt the chocolate on top of a double boiler as show below instead of the air fryer.
Storage
Make sure you keep this in refrigerator to avoid melting. Easy to make and eat!
Christmas season is here again and so is cold harsh winter in many parts of the world. Good old chocolate tree bark can lift up your spirits anytime!
