Makhaane ki kheer-Lotus seed pudding

Ingredients

  • 1,5 cup makhaane/lotus seeds
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup mixed dry fruits(almonds and walnuts)
  • 750 ml milk(reduce it to 500 ml)
  • 5-6 strands of saffron (soaked in 2 tbsp milk)
  • 2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp ghee or clarified butter

Instructions

  1. In a pan dry roast lotus seeds or makhane.
  2. Once they turn pink,add dry fruits to them.Mix well.
  3. Add ghee and stir well.
  4. Stir in milk,sugar,cardamom & saffron.
  5. Serve hot/cold.
