Top tips for the recipe
Few things to note:
- The air fryer has to be pre heated. Treat it just like your oven.
- Choose potatoes that are long in shape not round and are good for roasting. I prefer russet one. Here in Australia I use Royal Dutch cream/purple/royal blue.
- Once cooked, use a spatula to pick them up, else they will break.
Variation
- Vegetarians can garnish air fryer accordion potatoes with cheese while vegans can use vegan cheese or garlic chives for garnish.
- Use sweet potatoes for a similar recipe and make accordion sweet potatoes

These look delicious and I would love to make them but I have the Magic Bullet air fryer and it says DO NOT PREHEAT. Can I adapt the recipe to be able to make these?
Thanks!
bhavana bhatia says
hi Shelagh,
If it says not to preheat, it will take just an additional 5-7 more minutes to cook these in the air fryer.
Hope that helps.
