    Air fryer paneer pakora

    Paneer pakora, a beloved Indian snack, is enjoyed in both Indian restaurants and homes. This air-fried pakora recipe is a healthier twist on the traditional deep-fried paneer pakora. Made with spiced gram flour batter and Indian cottage cheese, these crispy pakoras are ideal as a rainy day snack or a quick appetizer for unexpected visitors.

    However for the airfryer version, we get better results with red lentil flour(masoor dal flour) . For an extra treat, serve with date chutney, tomato ketchup or green chutney

    • store-bought paneer /cottage cheese
    • salt and red chili powder as per taste
    • red lentil flour / gram flour / besan
    • oil spray
    • turmeric powder/ curry powder
    • water

    Step by step Instructions for paneer pakoda recipe

    Dice the paneer evenly with a sharp knife.

    Mix together the red lentil flour and spices. Toss the paneer in the mix and leave them in a tray.

    Mix the dry stuff with water until it’s thick, then pour it over the paneer.

    Put the paneer on the wooden skewers.

    Preheat that air fryer to 340°F (170°C). Put the skewers on a baking sheet with holes in the air fryer basket.

    Lightly spray the paneer with vegetable oil and cook it for 10 minutes. Give it another spray, cook 3–4 more minutes till golden and super crispy.

    Equipment

    • Air fryer
    • oil spray
    • bowl
    • wooden skewers

    Ingredients

    • 400 gm paneer
    • ¾ cup red lentil flour / gram flour / besan
    • 1 tablespoon curry powder or take a mix of turmeric,garam masala
    • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
    • salt as per taste
    • ¾ cup water
    • oil spray

    Instructions

    • Cut the paneer cubes into uniform pieces with a sharp knife.
    • Prepare a dry mix with red lentil flour and spices in a bowl. Coat the paneer pieces in this mixture and set them aside.
    • Add water to the dry mix to create a thick batter and pour it over the paneer.
    • Thread the paneer onto wooden skewers.
    • Preheat your air fryer to 170°C (340°F). Place the skewers on a perforated baking sheet in the air fryer basket.
    • Spray vegetable oil lightly over the paneer and cook for 10 minutes.
    • Spray again and cook for another 3–4 minutes until golden brown and extra crispy paneer pakoras are ready.
