- cocoa powder
- full-fat ricotta cheese
- milk
- ghee
- sugar
- milk powder

Equipment
- Kadai / heavy bottom pan
- Vitamix / food processor
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. ghee
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2-3 tbsp. full fat milk
- ¾ cup milk powder
- 500 gms ricotta cheese
- 3 tbsp. cocoa powder
Instructions
- In a food processor, add cocoa powder, ricotta cheese and milk powder.Process it until it is evenly mixed.
- In a deep pan or kadai, heat 2-3 tbsp. ghee and add sugar to it . add 2-3 tablespoon milk and let sugar melt.
- Add the ricotta mixture to the pan and let it cook on a low flame.
- Mix with a spatula until it comes together and liquid starts to evaporate. You can see it getting thicker slowly and keep removing it from sides of the pan. Once thick, turn off the gas and remove it with a spatula to a greased plate.
- With greased hands, slowly make equal sized balls of peda mixture and flatten them. Use your thumb to push it down from the center to make the peda
- Chill it in refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Serve it on room temperature.

How to make chocolate peda with ricotta cheese?
Step 1-2: In a food processor, add cocoa powder, ricotta cheese and milk powder.Process it on low speed, until it is evenly mixed.
Step 3-4: Heat ghee in a pan with little milk and add sugar to it. Mix on a low flame until it starts to dissolve. Add the cocoa ricotta cheese mixture to the pan and let it cook on a low heat.
Step 5-6: Mix with a spatula every few minutes until it comes together on a low flame. Let it cook until liquid evaporates. You can see it getting thicker slowly,keep scraping the sides of the pan to keep it together.
Step 7-8: Once thick, turn off the gas and remove it to a greased plate or on a parchment paper.With greased hands, slowly make a balls and push it with a thumb to make a smooth peda.
Chill it in refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Serve it on room temperature. You may optionally garnish it with chopped almonds, cashews or pistachios.
