Homemade energy bar

Homemade energy bar is a simple treat.Also, you can make them easily from dry fruits,oats,honey and some butter.This is a cheaper alternative to the various bars available in market and it has no additional sugar or preservatives.You can prepare this easily on a weekend and store it on room temperature.It is full of nutrients and serves as a good breakfast or snack for growing children and busy professionals.Watch the space below to see a short video on making this treat or scroll down below for the written recipe.

Homemade energy bar


  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup dryfruits(almonds,walnuts)
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds/pepita
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp butter/vegan butter/oil
  • 6-7 dates


  1. Dry roast oats,pumpkin seeds & nuts.
  2. Add butter,mix well.
  3. In a nonstick pan,mix butter & honey.Keep it aside.
  4. Chop dates,roll into a smooth ball,mix with oats.
  5. Add butter-honey mixture,mix well.
  6. Spread the mix on a baking sheet.Press evenly.
  7. Let it cool.Cut into squares with a knife.
  8. Store in a bottle on room temperature.

You may add as well add1/4 cup granola and 3/4 cup oats instead of 1 cup oats to this recipe to add more nutrition to it.
