I love making it when someone is coming home. Paneer is such a versatile ingredient. You can use blocks of paneer bread to make a pakora. Stuff fresh crumbled paneer in soft roti dough and add some spices. Voila! it turns into an amazing paratha.
Pakode or fritters is an easy starters. Everyone loves making this street food at home. Although fried food is not good if taken on daily basis, having it once a while is not a problem. Cottage cheese is a crowd favorite. People of all age groups love it. Kids can eat it and so can elders. Whether it is curry dessert of starters, there is something which everyone likes.

Paneer Pakoda- cottage cheese fritters
- ½ cup besan/chickpea flour
- 300 gm paneer/cottage cheese cut into long thick cubes
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon tumeric
- Pinch of baking soda
- Salt as per taste
- Water to make thick batter
- Oil for frying
