Air fryer broccoli is is an easy broccoli recipe if you are vary to try it.This perfect side dish is hassle-free. Healthy food need not be boring. Air crisp your broccoli once and this is a game changer if you are looking for an easy recipe. I love to pair it with roasted mushrooms and air fryer brussels sprouts too. You can have it as an easy side with some pumpkin lentil curry or curried lentil soup too. Somedays I pair it with my dal tadka & veg fried rice. On other days, it is in my son's bento box. Roasted broccoli is one of his favorite meals. This easy side dish has low cooking time.
To be frank, broccoli is not my favorite things. In fact, I am more like the mum in eat your peas song of cocomelon. My son coaxes me to eat it just like I gently prod him to eat remaining green vegetables. He loves the green florets so it is a regular in my house now. You can also make a yummy vegan broccoli soup with those florets. Love makes us do weird things, even eat tender broccoli head 🙂

Ingredients
- 1 broccoli cut in florets,
- 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tablespoon oil for 1 cup florets
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder or as per taste
- Salt as per taste
Instructions
- Cut and wash the broccoli florets.shake off any excess water
- Mix oil with salt and seasoning(garlic powder)
- Toss the florets in the oil. Rub/brush the floret heads in the oil mix. This is to ensure that the heads are covered with oil, else they end up burnt.
- Preheat the air fryer at 170 deg C | 340 F for 5 mins. Layer the broccoli in the air fryer crisping tray or basket without overlapping.
- Air fry for 7-9 mins at 170 deg C | 340 F .Depending on the size of the florets the cook time might differ by 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot.

- Take the frozen broccoli out of the freezer. Brush oil on the florets, season with salt,spices. Preheat the air fryer at 170 deg C | 340 F for 5 mins. Layer the broccoli in the air fryer crisping tray or basket without overlapping

Top tip: Its very important to rub/brush the heads nicely, else they will end up soaking all the oil

Air fryer mushrooms , and tofu are a great combination too. You can also top it with some garlic oil if you like. You can even cook them with collard greens and zucchini. Air fryer potatoes and broccoli is also a good combination.
Substitutions
If you are vegetarian, you may use butter for cooking broccoli in air fryer, instead of olive oil. You can also serve it with a cream cheese dip. Other topping that can be used are sesame oil+ fresh lemon juice + garlic salt. You can also grate some sharp cheddar cheese on top alternatively to make cheesy broccoli after cooking al dente. Other flavors that can be added are onion powder,red pepper flakes or black pepper in some soy sauce or balsamic vinegar.
Storage
Store it in an airtight container in refrigerator for 1-2 days. Reheat for couple of minutes before you serve. It is always best to eat fresh.
