    Best avocado sourdough toast | avocado toast recipe

    Sourdough avocado toast  is a perfect start of the day. It is healthy and nutritious. Ready in a jiffy and perfect for your bento box too.

    You can make this with any salad ingredients along with a perfectly ripe avocado. Learn to make this Aussie staple in easy steps. Use a crusty sourdough bread for best results. However, if you do not find good sourdough bread near you, even thick slices of brown bread would do.

    Equipment

    • cast iron pan/ griddle
    • fork
    • knife and chopping board / food processor

    Ingredients

    • sourdough bread/ whole wheat bread
    • olive oil
    • nice ripe avocados
    • Lemon juice
    • Salt and pepper

    Toppings

    • cherry tomatoes,halved
    • Cubed cucumbers with pomegranate seeds
    • red peppers/sweet bell peppers
    • Toasted asparagus with garlic (you can cook asaparagus on a pan with oil or make air fryer asparagus )

    How to make avocado toast?

    1. Heat a cast iron pan and place loaves of sourdough bread on it.

    2. Drizzle some olive oilon each slice of bread and toast it on both sides.

    3. In a bowl, scoop out pulp of 2 medium avocadoes.

    4. Mash it with a fork or back of a spoon to make a smooth guacamole. Add squeeze of lemon juice, and a generous sprinkle of flaky sea salt and pepper.

    5. Spread the guacamole on the toasted bread generously.

    6. Garnish with various toppings like chopped tomatoes and sprinkle favorite seasoning like fresh herbs, red pepper flakes, salt,and pepper on it as per your taste.

    Vegemite avocado toast (vegan)

    • You can also apply vegemite or any vegemite alternative like marmite yeast extract first and mashed avocado on top. A good option to eat that spread if you are not used to it.

    Top it up with fresh cherry tomatoes for a loaded avocado toast.

    Other avocado toast variations

    • You can use any bread loaf if you do not have sourdough.
    • You can spread peanut butter first followed by smashed avocado and make avocado peanut butter toast.

    Substitutions

    • If you are a vegetarian, you may toast it with butter. Optionally, you can also add a fried egg on top.
    • You can replace avocado with any dip such as red pepper hummus.

    Storage

    • Store toppings separately in refrigerator. Serve after toasting bread fresh.

    Equipment

    Ingredients

    • 2 medium avocado
    • 4-5 sourdough bread slices
    • 1 tbsp. olive oil
    • ½ tablespoon lemon juice
    • salt as per taste
    • black pepper as per taste
    • 1 tablespoon vegemite (optional) or any vegemite alternative like marmite

    Toppings

    • ¼ cup cherry tomatoes chopped
    • ¼ cup sweet pepper chopped
    • 4-5 asparagus
    • 2 cloves garlic chopped,to pair with asparagus above
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil for grilling asparagus and garlic
    • ¼ cup cucumber chopped
    • 2 tablespoon pomegranate seeds to pair with cucumber

    Instructions

    For toppings

    • Mix cucumber with pomegranate seeds,keep them aside
    • Slice the cherry tomatatoes, keep them aside
    • chop the sweet peppers,keep them aside.
    • Grill asparagus and garlic in olive oil, season with salt and pepper,keep them aside or use air fryer to make air fryer asaparagus

    For avocado toast
