Soya chaap is delicacy which is immensely popular across North India. Those who are not aware,it is an alternative to chicken. This canned vegan chicken can be used to make a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes like biryani, malai chaap and tandoori soya chaap tikka a.k.a the closest version of tandoori chicken tikka.
Whether its soya chunks manchurian or homestyle soya chaap curry. You can use this chaap tikka to make soya chaap tikka masala.

Ingredients
- 1 can soya chaap (yields 500 gm when drained)
- greek yogurt / coconut yogurt if vegan
- turmeric powder
- red chili powder / kashmiri red chili powder
- garam masala powder
- salt
- dried fenugreek leaves / kasuri methi

Instructions
- Drain the soya chaap pieces and squeeze the water out. cut them into small pieces.
- Combine all spices into a large bowl and combine thoroughly with yogurt
- Mix the soya chaap with marinade and let it rest for 2-3 hours.
- Preheat your air fryer for 5 mins at 170 deg C | 340 F after lining your basket with a parchment paper. Line the marinated soya chaap pieces on the skewers and place it in the air fryer.
Air fry the soy chaap for 17-18 mins at 170 degrees C | 340 degrees F.
Brush oil for 2 times during the cook.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve it with onion slices, lemon wedges and green chutney. You can also serve it with tandoori roti for a meal
Hint: Always preheat your air fryer.

Top tip
Always preheat your air fryer before you use it for air frying. marination process generally takes 2-3 hours or its best left overnight. This step can be done in advance and stored in refrigerator / freezer until you are ready to consume the cooked chaap.
