    Crunchy Roasted Green Peas are the perfect snack for anyone looking to satisfy their cravings while still maintaining a commitment to healthy eating. This simple recipe utilizes an airfryer to transform regular green peas into a crunchy and delicious snack that beats anything you can find at the grocery store. . We love peas whether its soup or stew, peas in any form is great! It is great for protein.

    Now, with sedentary lifestyle, it is better to go low oil. Roasted peas recipe is simple yet a great way to have peas. Air frying helps avoid extra oil and yet relish the same taste as kids. This recipe is similar to air fried moong dal and air fried moong beans recipe.

    How to make roasted peas ? Step wise instructions

    • Add peas to boiling water with salt. Turn off the heat and allow the peas to be in the water for 5-7 minutes.

    • Pass the peas through a sieve to remove excess water.

    • Add 2 teaspoon oil and mix it.
    • Preheat the air fryer at 150 deg C for 5 mins.
    • Place the peas in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

    • Air fry peas for 23-25 mins at 150deg C/300F and mix 2-3 times in between. Depending on the size of the peas, you may need to cook further for 2-3 minutes, if they are not crunchy.

    • once done, spread out the air fried peas on a paper towel .This helps remove much of the moisture and ensures a satisfyingly crunchy texture.
    • Add the spices ,mix well. Store it in air tight container once it cools.

    Equipment

    • Air fryer
    • Air fryer crisper tray or parchment paper
    • sauce pan

    Ingredients

    • 2 cup peas 3 cups of water to boil 2 cups
    • 2 tsp. salt or as per taste
    • 1 tablespoon oil

    Instructions

    • Add peas to boiling water with salt. Turn off the heat and allow the peas to be in the water for 5-7 minutes.
    • Pass the peas through a sieve to remove excess water.
    • Add 2 teaspoon oil and mix it.Preheat the air fryer at 180 deg C for 5 mins.
    • Place the peas in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may do that in batches if you have a smaller basket
    • Air fry peas for 23-25 mins at 150 deg C | 300F and mix 2-3 times in between.
    • Once done, place them on a paper towel for few minutes.
    • Optionally ,Add any more spices/seasonings as you like ,mix well. Store it in air tight container once it cools.

    Notes

    To get crispy roasted peas, store it in an air tight container they turn out soft after a few days, cook them to 2 minutes or more in an airfryer.

    You can make any roasted lentils in air fryer like moong dal. For moong dal namkeen in air fryer, refer to our moong dal air fryer recipe. For chana dal,follow the recipe of air fryer chana dal.

    Store your crunchy roasted peas in an air tight container once it completely cools down.
