I love paneer because it is versatile to cook with too.It is a soft cheese which can be made into blocks or eaten scrambled.
You can make a starter, curry, pilaf, and even a dessert in a short time. Paneer curries are so many. You can eat anyone each week and still not be bored. Paneer Butter masala, Paneer tikka Masala, Paneer bhurji, Kadai Paneer, Achari paneer, Paneer lablabadar or good old Palak paneer. That means you will only repeat the first curry after 2 months. Isn't that cool?
If you like sweets there are no dearth of it with chhena. Be it baked cheese cake chhena pudo or rassogulla. Rasmalai or Rajbhog. If appetizer is your choice, ;manchurian and pakodas/fritters are yummy option. If rice and parathas are your choice, make a biryani or paratha.

Matar Paneer(In Pressure cooker)
Ingredients
- ¼ cup oil
- ginger garlic,green chillies(1 teaspoon each)
- ⅓ cup onions chopped
- 1 cup tomato puree
- ½ tsp. turmeric powder
- 1 tsp. garam masala
- 2 tsp. chilli powder
- 1 tbsp. coriander pdr
- 2 tsp.salt
- 2 tbsp. yogurt
- 300 gms paneer cottage cheese
- ¾ cup peas
- 1.5 cup water
- 1 tablespoon kasoori methi
Instructions
- In a pressure cooker,add oil,ginger,garlic and chillies.
- Add Onion,cook until brown.
- Now,add tomato puree,cook for 8-10 minutes.
- Add spices,cook for 5 minutes.
- Add curd,cook until oil comes out.
- Add Paneer,peas,water and kasuri methi.
- Pressure cook until 1-2 whistles.
- Serve with Roti bread.
